Here's an overall itinerary on Busan trip for 4 days 3 nights, in exact 2 full days.
We have been staying in Yeonsan-dong area which is near to Mulmangol station, a homestay we found in Airbnb, the owner is really so friendly and helpful, the area is strategic too, you got all the convenient stall, cafe and public transport directory and all within walking distance.
By the time we check in and settled, it's already evening and it's time for dinner. We discover the place a little before heading to bed. Busan is much a village compared to Seoul, the shop houses here close earlier. Heard that Pusan University Area is the crowdest place with teenagers, so we decided to head there for some noise and night experience while leaving aunt at home to rest. Made a big mistake taking the subway to Busan National University Education instead of Pusan National University which both had a huge difference. Felt creepy to discover this very quiet street of Busan and only we look back on the map that both are different.
Our first stop, dinner in Ji & Tobico! It's a beautiful cafe kind of with very nice environment and beautiful decor and not to forget the handsome gentleman waiter. He even squats down to explain the menu to us and later ask our opinion on the food. Their side dishes are good too which include cold noodles and one big bowl of good salad! They are famous with their albap (stone bowl bibimbap with fish roe), dolsot albap is the normal ones cost 6000 won and saeu cream albap is with shrimp cream egg cost 6500 won. The food is good and the price is considered very cheap with the side dish and service provided.
After dinner, we walk a little around that area but unfortunately the shop all close kinda early so we decided to head back and order delivery fried chicken for supper with the help of our host! While waiting for the delivery, we hang out a little to the nearby grocery to buy ourselves some beer to experience more of the Korean style life before we leave this beautiful country.
Start our second day with abalone breakfast! It is a famous dish in Busan, the one we opt to try is near to Heundae beach, located in a building called Pale De Cz which is opposite Toyoko Inn. This restaurant opens 24 hours and is suitable to eat anytime. It's not a very tourist place, while we are being seated we still see local having their meal there. The food in Busan is really affordable, try as much as you want.
Abalone porridge 12000 won |
Abalone bibimbap 12000 won |
Dumpling soup 6000 won |
Stew 8000 won |
Dumpling 5000 won |
We later hang around a bit at the beach but the weather is really hot we didn't step our foot to the sand but proceed our journey to Haedong Yonggoong Temple.
Some snack to chew near Daeyong station before we continue our walk to Busan musuem. Going there to experience free hanbok Korean traditional costume experience but it was fully book that day. Remember to go early in the morning to book the schedule for traditional experience, they had tea ceremony experience too. We came back to the museum next day early morning. Play along with some puzzles too which was quite fun to kill time.

By coincidence, we get to watch some Korean traditional music and dance performance invited by a student that are promoting the event. It was eye opening for us, very entertaining, a great experience.
Walk into a random restaurant because we are too hungry and looking from outside the food looks really delicious! This restaurant is located between the subway station and Busan Museum. It doesn't only looks good, it tastes so so good too! After dining, we still don't know what dish called but it consists of glass noodles, squid and octopus cost 6000 won per pax. We ordered another set with extra ingredient of prawn cost us 7000 won per pax. I think they served other food too which is written on the menu with Korean I can't read. The funny thing is we ordered this totally by body language as they can't understand English or Chinese. This restaurant served side dish of crab.
We continue our night with aunt birthday celebration. We bought her a cake and end up with another fried chicken order delivery of Jae Suk as the spokesman. Because my cousin is a fan of Yoo Jae Duk and this particular shop we tried to order yesterday closed and hence the order today. But we personally think that the fried chicken we ordered yesterday taste better compared to this. Fried chicken delivery normally range around 20000 won and comes with a 1L bottle of soft drinks.
The third day, starting our morning breakfast in Paris Baguette with bread and coffee or tea which located just opposite the street. It actually can be found everywhere as there's a lot of branches almost everywhere in Korea. They had good bread and the lighting is pretty to take photos, the cup is adorable too serving coffee, tea and chocolate.
We head back to the museum for some traditional experience and while heading to the subway station to our next location, we bump into another cafe along the way as this dessert brochure so much caught our attention. This is good stuff, new in their menu and hence the promotion banner. The cake consists of real banana in it, ice cream and smoothies. It's a huge one! We ordered also the famous honeydew dessert people brag about on the web. The honeydew is indeed fresh but the shaved ice is too huge in size for us. It overall tastes good, worth a try but be sure doesn't over order and share is the important key.
Continue our journey to Gamcheon Cultural Village and Jagalchi Market. Lastly spent our night at BIFF Square and Gwangbokdong Fashion Street.
Bye to the long long stairs and now you know why Korean all looks slim and old people here are strong and tough especially in Busan escalator are rare.
With the help of our host, we successfully booked two cabs to the airport early morning before the road starts to jam. Jam do exist everywhere not only in Malaysia *laugh* Settled our lunch in Airport again, this time in a pretty large food court with nice deco price ranging between 5000 won to 10000 won. Drinks are free though with choice of plain water, chocolate and coffee with the auto mechanic.
