Sabah Day 3 - More food on the way back to town!

Waking up as early as 6 am to get this full view of Mount Kinabalu. Because later then the cloud will cover the top of the mountain and you won't get to see the few beautiful sharp peak. So I don't care if I had this really just-wake-up look.

And here is some beautiful huge sunflower that is planted at our homestay.

On our road back to the town, we drive to Tuaran town Restaurant Lok Kyun to try out their Tuaran noodles. It's another type of egg noodles that is named after their town name. I personally prefer Tamparuli noodle more, Tuaran noodles taste a little salty for me. We ordered dried Tuaran noodles, fried Tuaran noodles, wat tan Tuaran noodles and Hakka yam braised meat. Our overall bill comes with a total of RM58.50 with two cups of hot coffee and two ice tea.
Dry Tuaran noodles RM5.50

Fried Tuaran noodles RM7.50

Wat tan Tuaran noodles RM7.50

Hakka yam braised meat RM16

We later head to Donggonggon Market to buy some fruits, some local products (coffee, dried prawn) and honey before checking in to our hotel. This time we opt for a cheap hostel, bunk bed style fitting 5 people in a room with private toilet. Tonight stay cost us only RM109.20 for a room include breakfast of scrambled egg, bread, sausage, a choice of tea/coffee.

We later head to Centre Point Sabah shopping mall to had our lunch at the basement level food court. Came here just for the food and it's really satisfying. Roti Cobra and Murtabak is good from Kedai Makanan Islamic Restoran. Roti Cobra is a set of Mamak food comes with roti canai, chicken curry, some mixed vegetable and sunny side up egg, definitely wins it all. Other foods we ordered are such as the economy vegetarian rice and Borneo chicken set (Sabah local fast food restaurant). Both are just so so anyway.
Roti Cobra RM7.50

Murtabak RM7

Borneo Chicken Set RM11.90

Being a tourist, we do check in all those Kota Kinabalu tourist spots. First stop to the Signal Hill Observatory Tower, it's a small spot you could easily drive up (no need of climbing stairs) to get a good view of the tall buildings.

We later continue with a bit of shopping in Suria Sabah shopping mall. You can get good deals there buying local products and souvenir. I bought few postcards, Sabah tea, and the famous Yit Foh Tenom Coffee.

After that, we cross the road to have some photo shooting at the Graffiti wall but is really some destroy pole and walls with spray paint on it, not a beautiful place, take note.

Done a few more shopping at the row of shop lot buying sea bird nest, sea cucumber, more coffee and Yit Foh candy with coffee, durian coffee and coconut coffee. I particularly like a souvenir shop at the corner, the seller is very friendly and polite introducing and selling us good products. I got attracted by their MyCafe durian instant coffee tester and yet she advises me to buy it back in West Malaysia for a better pricing.

Last spot to check in that day, the Marlin Statue for watching sunset. The sky is particularly beautiful here. Sitting on the ground and rest your mind enjoying the scenery.

End our day with dinner at Fatt Kee Restaurant at Ang's hotel. The food is good and reasonable just that the seat is limited and the crowd is big, you got to spend some time on waiting for seats but the food is served fast as the menu is limited. We ordered the claypot seafood tofu, Assam curry seafood, oyster sauce chicken wing and Sabah vegetable with 3 cups of barley and one cup of Chinese tea, bills come with a total of RM76.70. Cheap seafood! All taste really good, if we have extra stomach I wanna order more~ Sabah vegetable is like paku pakis, uniquely found only in Sabah which is good! Seafood is fresh, Assam taste good, chicken wing fully flavoured. I'm lacking of description.
