This is where I stay for my first night in Kundasang. Very pretty place having a view of the Kota Kinabalu mountain and a beautiful garden with cute dogs. This homestay named Little Hut Mesilau, you can have a look into the web. Our stay named Hut Attack, cost RM330 with 1 single bed at the bottom and 2 double beds on the second floor. The stay is quite a small ones but comfortable providing tea and coffee. They offer few other types of room with a different limitation of people. They hired volunteers too for working holiday with a requirement of at least a month. Waking up to this view and weather is bliss, I enjoy having my yesterday bought bread with a cup of hot coffee as breakfast.
Took another family photo with the Kota Kinabalu mountain on the way to our first stop. Desa cattle farm, you get to see a lot of cows and look a lot like a foreign country, New Zealand probably? Very pretty to take beautiful photos and of course food is good and fresh. You need to drive your vehicles across a pond of sanitizer to clear germs. An entrance fee of RM5 per adult is reasonable. We continue our breakfast with two cups of yoghurt ice cream. This gelato cost RM5.30 each with flavours of chocolate and original (milk). Both are really good! Quite worth la with the amount of ice cream in a cup.
Continue with calf and goat feeding session.
This is the cow feeding barn but feeding session falls in the afternoon so we were able to watch only the cow cleaning session, at least there's something to watch too.
A few more beautiful photos taken with the grass and group of cows.
Ending with fresh milk and yoghurt. Price for below purchase is as such fresh milk RM3.79, chocolate milk RM4.40, coffee milk RM6.00, nature yoghurt RM3.34 and passion fruit yoghurt RM4.61. Fresh milk is the best, very milky and fresh while nature yoghurt is too sour for my liking.
Had our lunch at the Ranau Hakka Food Court, the food was okay, nothing much to brag on. I personally like my order of fried meehoon laksa though. Price range at RM7 for rice and RM8 for noodles.
Second stop, the Poring hot spring which is around an hour journey from the cow farm. Entrance fee at RM3 per adult. Had a little juggle trekking into the forest and first waterfall before we went back to the hot spring pond to enjoy the heat that felts quite comfortable. Didn't go for the canopy walk, but wish to walk deeper into the forest next time if I ever visit here again which the signboard wrote 7+km into the last waterfall.
Our second homestay view, magnificent isn't it? Staying in Ren-Hana Kampungstay this time, you can book through booking.com or Whatsapp. We booked with the price of RM250 for a family room with 2 bedrooms, kitchen with basic cooking equipment, balcony and free wifi. Manage to reach there before sunset. Bought a few ingredients to cook in the homestay on the way back such as Sabah noodles (thick and thin), crab stick and japanese tofu in one of the supermarket. And bought some vegetables (chye sim and lady finger) and fresh corn too from the market near our stay. Met the Ramadan market, we spent some time walking around and bought murtabak (only cabbage) cost RM1.50 and two Malay rice at RM5 each, which taste really good! Enjoying one hot pot of self-cooked noodles with all fresh ingredient and a beautiful view is bliss. I would like to revisit this place again by just renting another homestay and relax would be luxurious enough for a quick escape.
