Flight delay so reaching Jeju airport near 10 pm. We later then proceed to Jeju auto house car reservation with the shuttle bus they had and finally got our car after 30 minutes. We are the last customer, they are all waiting for us to settle so that they can close shop and go back home. So sorry for that waiting as we took quite some time to confirm everything, thought it's 24 hours working.
So this is our car driving at midnight with GPS on our first day, our Airbnb rented house located one hour journey from the airport. With a different driving side (left), we actually drive quite slow to be safe. While me trying to connect to the free wifi in Korea to contact with our host here. She is really kind to stay up late just to welcome us, thank you very much. Her actual house is just beside the rented ones, she responds very fast to our request and enquiry, highly recommend this stay! Do have a look, it's a pretty neighbourhood with facilities we cooked instant noodles that night for our late dinner. She even help us with the big spider we screamed our lungs just looking at it :P
Had a simple breakfast at home and depart to Seongsan Ilchulbong as our first tourist spot. Read further here, the view is magnificent! A must go in Jeju if you had limited time, it had to be on the list.
Went to Kimyoung Maze Park with an entrance fee of 6000 won. We spent less than 10 minutes to walk out from the maze anyway. Are we too smart or it's just luck? We even played for the second round on competition base and finish the whole track within or less than 5 minutes. We actually spent time on taking photo more with this green background which is really pretty.
Another random chance to bump into this restaurant for lunch, it's located beside the road. The owner doesn't speak English, we literally order whatever from the menu, food turns out good and not really expensive tourist price.
This nature beauty I come upon, the web and spider built a stunning piece of art I decided to had a close up on it.
Manjanggul next, super cold you gotta bear with it because it turns colder as you step in. 2000 won for the entrance ticket, 1000 won or teenagers. Maybe someone who loves those stone, lava, pillar, stalactites or geography stuff will love it, as for me I just walk till the end, snapping some photo on the way, mind my step avoiding falling down as it's slippery and dark inside. Reaching the end, lots of people gather there snapping photo with that tall stone turtle they called it, a tall pillar formed by stalactites.
Dinner is the best food here in Jeju, a cannot miss too in Jeju recommend by our host. We queue for more than an hour in the cold weather strong wind to get into the restaurant for this awesome food! We take turn to hide from the wind in the car, we even visited the fruit stall and convenient stall nearby before we got served. Most of the customer is Korean, it's really famous among the local. This bowl of noodles with pork, the Korean called it the gogi guksu (pork noodle soup) and bibim guksu (mixed spicy noodle) taste really good! Too bad the plate of pork slice sold out, but the generous serving of pork slices comes with this big portion of noodles it's yet a big steal. Indeed really yummy, the wait with cold wind blowing till we freeze is not wasted at all, I would definitely come and wait for the second time :P
Bibim guksu 7000 won |
Gogi guksu 7000 won |
That's all for day 1 and 2 in Busan :)
