Day 3 in Jeju continue our tourist journey with Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market. Not much shop lots are open in the morning, probably suggest you to come in the afternoon. After a few walks around the area, we decided to had a simple brunch in a random restaurant. The food is good though with moderate price.
Next stop to Cheonjeyeon Waterfalls, this place needs a lot of walking and climbing stairs with normal view and forest. Sad to say that Jeju is all about tourist spot with admission fee 2500 won for adult and 1350 won for teenager or children. Three different beautiful spots to take photos and here I have it all for you.
We are lucky to spot a double rainbow. *make a wish*
I know all three waterfalls look the same as they are all water falling from the top to the bottom. You can skip this tourist spot though, I personally don't enjoy. Anyway, I love this bridge with orange colour and beautifully carved with white for the nymphs, it's beautiful. Snap some jump shots for my sister and posted below is the best one out of all. My siblings' jump shot are all indeed good, not like those multiple shots and choose one kind, it's a one jump one shot, I call it professional :P
Continue to O'sulloc tea museum which is also where the Innisfree shop located but no discount though. I bought my Innisfree products in Jeju International Airport while waiting for our flight, the duty free shop there is worth to shop, all with good discount, a better deal compared to Seoul. Coming back to talk about the tea here, it's so so good! I like almost everything here though it's expensive compared to other cafes definitely worth it! The cafe is full of people, you do find a hard time to find a place to seat
We ordered a bit of everything to try. We later bought three more ice cream to munch on, that green tea crave is real, you get a mouthful of rich green tea flavour. One cup of green tea ice cream price at 4500 won. The green tea roll price at 15000 won per roll, you can opt to buy an individual size cake for the price of 4500 won. This green tea roll is good too! The cream is not the oily feel you normally get, it's so rich that it literally melt into in mouth with the combination of green tea, it's perfect together. Given if you are a green tea lover, you might not want to miss this cafe. We bought also two different teas to try which are green tea and oolong if not mistaken each cost 7000 won. I bought back also three packs of ice green tea bags cost 15000 won containing 20 sachets each. I found this amazing as it works with cold water, not the usual tea bag you need hot water to heat up the leaf for good aroma. I suspect it's a freeze dried concept but kinda impossible to see the texture of it and the price of it.
Took some photo with all the good background. My candid photo looks better compared to those I smile awkwardly in front of the camera, in need to learn how to pose, learn and always forget, I need a great tutor and photographer :P
Pass by this Hyeopjae beach which is beautiful and decided to come down from the car and relax for awhile before we continue our journey to Lotte Mart to buy some Korea food. I love shopping in grocery even in Malaysia to the cold storage, noodles and biscuit section. You get a little surprise every time you explore new things and good food. Now that I started to learn a bit on reading food labels, I get to explore more.
Our dinner is indeed an expensive and luxurious meal, costing us 93000 won. It's a 5 star Michelin black pork restaurant, all the dishes served here is indeed high class even the utensil used. Look at all the side dishes below, it's more than the usual including two steamed egg and two big bowls of salad too. And the variety of wrap vegetable is unique where you can see herbs and fern type such as perilla leaf where it gives the mint flavour to the pork make it taste a lot healthier. The owner served us with lots of vegetables refill letting us try different varieties of wraps which magically do differ from one another. The one on top on the frying pan side dishes are suppose to absorb the fats from the pork and making it more flavourful but it turns out quite oily we don't dare to eat much. Overall it's a great experience got treated like a princess as it's quite late at night and we turn out to be the last customer before they close shop, we got all the attention and services all by ourselves.
Checking out our Airbnb early in the morning on Day 4 in Jeju as it's a one hour journey from where we stayed to the airport. But before that, we do go to check out another market before returning the rented car. Jeju Dongmun Traditional Market is it! Lot's of fresh seafood you can see here but we didn't try any so do braised pork knuckles, blood sausage and even pig's head which is very scary! I'm here just to find Omegi rice cake which said to be a must try here in Jeju. Sadly the expiry date is short as I planned to buy it back as Souvenir back to Malaysia but it's not a preserved food so we randomly bought a few flavours to try out there.
Had a simple lunch in the airport before we leave to Busan, our last station in Korea. Try out bibimbap and jajangmyeon where both of these dishes are the one we haven't get to try and it's mean to be the signature dish of Korea. Both are good. In Korea, I find out the meal we had in airport is usually cheaper but all are self-service, you need to pay first, wait for your alarm to vibrate and collect your food from the counter.
Next up will be my favourite place of all in Korea - Busan!
