Went to Taiwan with my fellow coursemates as graduation trip. We bought our ticket early this year during the promotion period and hence our to and fro ticket cost only RM600. Very lucky to get a window seat and hence the beautiful view from above, the blue sky and green land.
The Taiwan sign you first see when you reach the immigration counter.
Our first stop, 海瑞贡丸. This restaurant is famous with their pork ball. The meatball is very compact and fulfilling. But their noodles so so only.
Next stop, 高美湿地. This place must visit! Very very beautiful, with the windmill you can't find in Malaysia. Our driver actually decided to cancel this stop as the sky is raining but thanks god the rain actually stop when we reached :) These windmills actually work, they spin when the wind blow.
And look at the crowd, I don't have the chance to walk into the mudflats, so so many people not only there are of tourists but also Taiwanese itself. We just managed to take a group photo with this fake mudfish here.
This is definitely a great place for evening walks for couples, family with kids, friends, and to walk dog.
Our last stop is the Fengjia night market, 逢甲夜市. After we check in our homestay, Sweet House off we go for food hunt! Note that this homestay is super sweet and cute full with soft toy and pastel wallpaper. And it's fully equipped with toiletries and snacks.
Our first night market in Taiwan hence we bought a lot. The night market contains lots of fried food and cold drinks. We tried a lot as it's our first, let the photos do the talk :) But to be honest, some food is just okay. Throughout the journey, we feel that some of their food they die die want to mix and match together but they actually taste separately; while some they die die want to fry everything including milk. You will see in a few other posts.
Both this food (up & down) don't really taste good. Especially the 大肠包小肠 swhich is the sausage with sticky rice, they taste really different and doesn't really match each other. I think this is the tourist thing. While this chicken top with cheese at the bottom, normal lo, thumbs up for the sauce though.
While both of these (up & down) are the bomb! Grilled corn and papaya milk juice.
Both of these (up & down) okay lo, stinky tofu and potato chips.
Bought this watermelon juice also because it's cheap! Don't expect too much.
These two (up & down) is good! My favourites for Fengjia night market. Stinky fries is actually stinky tofu in stripes. This taste so much better than the previous stinky tofu we bought. While the yam fries at the bottom is good too! They sold out fast worth the long queue though.
Taken while we are waiting for the fried yam, the background is beautiful. Both photographers are actually testing their camera shutter speed and light exposure time. The blurred image behind is actually the moving of the car.
We later separate into groups and shop. The shop houses here open till midnight.
My supper, a random drink from a 24 hours mart, oreo milk.
Come back to the room to have coursemates brought this back for us, 胡椒饼, the crispy pepper pastry cake. Can try.
We end our first day in this big room chatting, trying new food and local beer. Oh btw, this is actually the boys room, a five people room, look huge right. Apart from the size, the design, painting and decoration very beautiful and cute also. Colourful bedsheet with lots of fluffy soft toy in big and small sizes. The girls are staying in another two different rooms with different themes.
