Singkawang, Indonesia

Trip to Singkawang is a long postponed trip. From what I remembered, we planned this trip very last minute probably at the last week where we had plenty of free time. We are all bored at home (it's only all about Cultural festival practice) and wanted to just leave Pontianak to another pretty place exploring the West Borneo. I forgot who came up with this idea of place but definitely a great choice! We actually asked permission twice to get this trip approved.

It's a four hours journey from Pontianak to Singkawang. A place they call it the Chinese town where many people there speaks Hakka and some Mandarin. It was a long journey for me though as we traveled there by motorcycle. Not only the sun is hot and bright, my butt is totally flat.

Here's us at the first stop recharging drinking coffee. Our first group photo too. Being the only girl at the trip is not in the plan (another two girls couldn't make it) :(

We started our journey at around 8am which is 90 minutes late from what we actually planned. Blame that late comers, boo~ Reaching Singkawang city around 12pm, just in time for lunch. Forget to take a photo with the food, it's delicious. I'm too hungry I guess. They served dried noodles with bakso soup and Indonesia way of eating is to add all the sauces displayed on the table, and I think I add a lot of them to make it tasty.

We then booked our hotel and get good discount from them, Rp500000 for a 4-person room (they called it the family room), it's actually priced at Rp750000 from the brochure. I think the price is pretty cheap as this resort is located just beside the beach and they provide breakfast although very limited just fried rice and noodles :P

Right after check in, this guys cannot wait to immerse themselves into the sea. Here is some photo of them. The whole day photographer as I'm not into it (the water is not very clean like how is describe on the web).

Our type of group photo at the beach I supposed?

Few more views from the sea.

The sunset is beautiful.

I love this photo above a lot. The orange colour of the sun with the black shadow and structure.
P/s: the people inside the photo is not me

After everyone take a bath and rest, we are off to dinner! The place we gathered, mosque. Red and Andi is playing Pokemon GO there, fortunate enough that this mosque is actually a Pokestop of Pokemon gym.

Our dinner at Hong Kong street: kwetiau and chicken pork rice. Both are good, I especially like the steamed chicken.

We walked a little around the area for sight seeing. We then leave the place and head back to our resort which is located away from the city, a 20 minutes journey.

Our next stop the other day, temple again.

Climbing the hill, not even half of it actually because we are lacking of time, a farewell party in the afternoon back in Pontianak waiting for us to attend.

Thanh rode super fast back as we are chasing time. We experienced some minor accident too middle of the journey. The chain of Thanh and Red's motorcycle broke, we are lucky to had this accident at the side of the road with no car beside, and lucky enough that the workshop is just 500m away.

Our lunch, expensive ones, we got cheated here. nevertheless the food here is good. The grilled rice served with sambal cockles and grilled bird. Grilled rice with sambal cockles is really really good, it can be rate up to 10! While the grilled bird is really scary. I tried only a little of them. Thanh even eat the whole head of the bird, yucks!

Although I got a lot darker in this trip, even the tone of my hand for both poses different colour. But I love how I end my exchange journey in Indonesia with this trip. Nothing special happens but I just love how free I am there.
