The Amazing Race: Race Towards Food Safety

Participated in a competition at Komtar last Thursday with a few of my coursemates, sort of representing the school as a student from food technology. The competition is basically treasure hunt where you have several game station located between the second floor to the fourth floor of Komtar. You are required to complete each station according to the hint given which include food regulation, food addictive, microbes, HACCP and others such as guessing and spelling. Pretty much something we learnt from our course but to translate it into Bahasa Malaysia. But for me, I couldn't remember a thing about those. I'm one of the typical Malaysian student where I study for exam but not knowledge. Yes, I feel guilty talking about it, will starts to learn and absorb.

We reached so much earlier before the competition actually starts. Here's a photo of us after getting our tag.
While awaiting for the organizer to calculate our marks from each station, they brought us to a Malay restaurant for lunch. My first time at a restaurant sitting at a corner labelled reserve. For your information, JKN PP stands for Jabatan Kesihatan Negeri Pulau Pinang. I'm honor to be one of the participant for this competition.
Here comes the most exciting session of the competition, the award time! There's only seven groups in this competition mainly two groups from USM and five groups from UiTM. The emcee started to announce the participants who got the seventh place. Note that there's hamper and prize for each group even you are the last. We are kind of anxious as we completed all the station pretty late, few of the last group to reach the last station. Here's a comparison of how late we are, when our seniors had completed all the stations, we had two more stations to figure out. We got so nervous where we actually heaved a sign of relief every time our group name is not being announced by the emcee. Yes, I know our opponent must hate us a lot for being overreacted but that's actually how we feel. Apparently we got third place and with no doubt our seniors got the first place. We won ourselves lots of tupperwares, bottles and bags while seniors won themselves a hard disk, bottles and bags.
Huimin left after she took her lunch as she had a Korean test in the afternoon therefore she's not there during the award ceremony. We have our prize snap in her room to show off how amazing it is. It's overall fun! Would love to join more competition in the future. And I would starts to crunch my book as much as I love food. Tests and assignment up next week, will need to dive into the nerd world.
