Course Trip: Hatyai, Thailand

It was exactly a year back where we have our first course trip and someone suggested Hatyai, Thailand our neighbour country and we all agreed. Started to booked our tour guide which provide a good package of only RM190 for 3 days 2 nights which include hotel room and transportation from Penang to Thailand and also in Thailand itself. It's pretty much cheap and affordable for students like us. So, we depart around 6 in the morning where the sky is still dark and the moon and stars shining above our head with chilled air blow to your face. The journey took us around 5 hours to reach the customs. We were all very excited for our first trip not having any plan for the whole trip (we have tour guide, nothing to scare off) and having some who had never been abroad having their first passport made.
We were brought to this stall for our lunch. Having our first check in to Thailand before our trip officially starts.
And after that, hotel room checked in to put our luggage and starts exploring the city. The hotel is located in the middle of city, every place is reachable within walking distance. We walked randomly, slowly memorizing the road we took and experienced culture different.
Later then, we have our dinner at Lee Garden. In my opinion, this buffet is a little bit overrated as the food choice is limited and taste is just so so. It serves normal food where you can find it somewhere else that taste better. Anyway, this place it's always full with people, you need to queue up in order to eat. The view is nice if you get to sit beside the window, you'll see the whole view of Hatyai.
Second day of lunch, we are brought to a Thailand restaurant to taste some Thailand local food. Something new to try out but it's all up to your acceptability as some turn out weird in taste and some is kind of spicy, a lot of raw food though. I find out that Thailand people loves colours, they have their words, building and decoration all in a few combination of colours which turn out pretty much an art. Can you being able to understand any words that written above the board? No, I can't.

Our next destination is to visit the Samila beach at Songkhla which had a mermaid status that brings some sort of luck by touching it. Sadly, it's too much of tourist that day where we couldn't even walked near to the status. We randomly spent our time playing around at an open space.
Our next visit is to visit a temple where there's a four face buddha and erawan. It requires you to climb up a few steps of stairs.

We were brought to visit the elephant conservation center as well. But afterall, it's more like a center to attract tourist and gain profit from the elephant. You can see the elephant having lots of scars at their back and you can tell that they are not happy.
Last stop will be the floating market, klonghae. It's not much those floating market where you see somewhere around the web where you will be sitting on the boat at a certain river buying stuff from another boat. But still I'm glad with the variety of food selling there. You will suggest to be coming in a group so you can try out different local food. I try out some worms too, cooked and died ones. And also their drinks in the clay, it can be bought back as souvenir too, it's pretty cheap.
We went to a bar at out last night in Thailand to experience some night life. The drinks is cheap there with blasted music and band. This kind of wrap up our trip.
7-11 for breakfast and ready to leave this country. Had our food microwave and served with variety of drinks. Something very different from Malaysia.
Lastly, a group photo at the lobby of hotel before we depart.
I kind of turned myself into a Thai girl.

Food Hunt: SS2 Petaling Jaya

For lunch, we visited Restoran Teoh Chew Meng. It was originated from Penang and it's brunch out here in KL (if not mistaken). The food is so so good but it's not something that will feed you stomach full as the portion is not really big. The top of all, shark fin mee sua Tow, it's something you definitely shouldn't miss out. This pot of mee sua contains lots of ingredients apart from sharkfin, there's also crabstick, fish, squid, prawn and etc. It's pricing at RM12/pax, it's definitely worth it!
We have also oyster mee which contain lots of ingredient in it as well. The oyster is fresh and big. This plate cost RM15/pax. A little pricey but still worth to give it a try :)
Apple bean curd, something new for me (at least I never seen this before). It cost RM12. I can't describe this dish, it's just something new where you have apple slice on bean curd with some sauce, haha!
We had this fried banana as tea time and a few other fried stuff too. This is bought from a chinese old lady and uncle. It taste nice and there aren't stingy to fried the whole banana. It sell out pretty fast. Oh ya, not to forget their karipap and a few others which I couldn't remember their names.
And lastly for dinner, we opted to dine in Organic Express. The environment was pretty nice. You can see that the boss definitely put an effort to turn over the idea of organic and vegetarian. It's a lot like dining with a picnic table with a bulb on top, more on quaint design. We ate brown rice with a few chinese cuisine dishes which include assam fish. It's not too spicy to be consume by those who don't eat spicy food. The sourness will eventually open up your appetite. I couldn't recall other dishes names but definitely everything taste nice. You feel very healthy consuming this organic and vege food. They have also those organic ambient and odor, haha! All dishes cost around RM12 - RM25.
Not to miss out their fruit tea which cost RM13.90 for a jug. It's really nice being served hot is a plus. Mixture of different fruits being blend and punch together each carry out different fragrant. It doesn't taste too sweet nor too sour, it's just perfectly nice to be drink.
The boss is friendly and interactive, he greets and speaks to his customer. Their service is definitely good! Anyway, we got ourselves a plate of rojak for free! It's taste really nice especially the sauce used and the keropok. By the way, they served also western food and I shall come back for another round! :)
Oh ya, before I forget, they received cash only (kindly note that down). You know there's people who always used to use credit card.

How I celebrate my birthday with family

Basically, they (family) wanted to try out this birthday cup milk tea drinks. So yes, they opted to celebrate my birthday there which is Wong Kok Char Chan Teng. The place we often visited for our breakfast as it's super cheap. Having a plate of noodles and a cup of drinks cost you less than RM5. And the environment is pretty pleasant with air conditioner which allows you to sit and talk for hours.

So, here we are. When you compare the original cup (with pink straw) with the birthday cup, you get to see the huge difference. You might spot lots of cheese dishes as both my siblings area cheese lover. Will let the pictures talk.
